THE PAST
I was born in North London somewhere around the middle of the twentieth century.
I started making films when I was eleven. They were 8mm slapstick comedy films that I wrote, shot and directed and showed at school. (Talking of school, I have just been directed to a site where it is possible to find me in the Sixth Form of the Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe).
From there it's been downhill all the way really.
I studied Special Philosophy at Hull University from 1971-4 and my first job was working as a Dubbing Projectionist for Colour Film Services. I didn't stay there very long as I got another job as Cinema Co-ordinator at South Hill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell. I lasted there till the end of 1976 when I moved to London just in time to catch the punk era as it hit Camden Town.
